Global investment in insurance technology
Willis Towers Watson, one of North America's largest insurance and reinsurance companies, recently released the latest issue of the Insurance Science and Technology Bulletin, which shows that in the fourth quarter of 2018, 63 known insurance technology-related transactions worldwide totaled $1.59 billion, with 24% increase in volume and 155% increase in volume.
Overall, transactions include investments in start-ups such as property/accident and life and health, with volume second only to the second quarter of 2015. At present, global insurance companies have established strategic partnerships with 31 technology companies, which is the largest in history.
